Connecting Communities, Empowering Homes: Jamii Telecom Partners With Metro Alliance To Deliver Reliable 24/7 Connectivity Across Kenya

By Caroline Simba

Jamii Telecommunications Limited (JTL) is a proudly Kenyan tier-one mobile operator, owning both a fixed and mobile network with a footprint that spans all 47 counties. Our mission has always been clear: to connect every home, empower every customer, and ensure that no Kenyan is left behind in the digital age.

Our newly established partnership with the Metro Alliance is a significant step toward achieving this mission. The homes represented by the Alliance are the very communities where our customers reside, raise their families, work, and build their dreams. As digital needs evolve, we recognise the importance of delivering reliable, high-quality connectivity that supports modern living—whether for remote work, online learning, entertainment, or business continuity.

When Metro Alliance approached us, we took time to examine the value this partnership would bring to member associations. We understand that these communities share a common goal: protecting their environments and preserving a safe, functional ecosystem for residents. As a Kenyan company deeply invested in our country’s growth, this aligns strongly with our values and reinforces our commitment to sustainable, inclusive connectivity.

Today’s world requires more than just internet access—it requires reliable, uninterrupted, 24/7 connectivity. Kenya continues to face frequent fiber cuts caused by roadworks, drainage expansion, and construction activities, often affecting both underground and overhead fiber lines. In response, JTL has developed an innovative solution: the Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) product.

This technology combines the strength of our fixed fiber network with our mobile network, ensuring that customers remain connected even during fiber disruptions. Whenever a fiber cut occurs, the connection automatically switches to our mobile network, allowing users to stay online wherever they are and at any time of day. This innovation reflects our continuous effort to tailor solutions that address real customer needs.

Security is another priority for modern households. With JTL’s dependable connectivity, residents can seamlessly access their CCTV systems, monitor their homes, and stay in control of their safety from anywhere. This makes our partnership with the Metro Alliance not just a technology collaboration, but a contribution to safer, more empowered neighborhoods.

Through this milestone partnership, member associations gain access to our full suite of innovative products and services. Beyond connectivity, JTL is also committed to supporting community initiatives—such as tree planting and environmental programs—as part of our contribution to resilient, sustainable neighborhoods.

We appreciate the Metro Alliance for choosing to collaborate with us, and we look forward to working closely with resident associations across the country. Together, we will continue to build a digitally connected Kenya—one home, one community, one county at a time.

Jamii Telecom remains committed to delivering innovative, reliable, and customer-centered solutions.
