Khushboo Parekh the Modelling cabin crew
  • Khushboo Parekh the Modelling cabin crew

Khushboo Parekh is my name and I am from this beautiful country Uganda, also known as pearl of Africa, Khushboo is an Arabic word its synonym to Good Fragrance in English, I have been living in Uganda for the past 30 years and I have my own Tour and Travel company. I have done a few beauty pageants like miss India Uganda 2010 where I was the 2nd runner up and miss photogenic, later in 2011 I represented Uganda in The Miss India worldwide 2011 which took place in UAE.

  • Born in Vadodara, a city in Gujarat India and raised up in Uganda. Well let me tell you about my birth city, it was in Limca book of records for the largest Garba, a traditional folk dance which celebrates fertility, honor womanhood, and pay respect to mother Durga this a festival of 9 consecutive nights of traditional dancing wearing beautiful and colorful attires, a city full of colors and mouthwatering street food. Honestly, I do not wait for my birthday but garba which we celebrate every year is what I always wait for, it happens in September or October.
  • Modelling and cabin crew has always been my passion since I was 10 years old, so I was a little at sea between both, if I be an airhostess, I travel the world and of course meet different people around and modelling also meant working with people from different nations and cultures, both always fascinated me. So, when I won my title of Miss india Uganda 2010, I chose to go with fashion industry both somehow similar as I have always loved being in a multicultural environment, it blows my mind to know about their national cuisine, dressing and lifestyle. Well, a secret am going to share, I am a foodie and I love trying out new vegetarian dishes, it gives me a foodgasm.
  • My inspiration has always been my mom, a very strong lady who carries herself different, I say this because some Indian families are always against their daughters from modeling and glamour world because of society pressure, to them what others speak and judge about their daughters makes a lot of impact. I am glad my mother has always supported my dream and been an inspirational woman in my life from childhood, she always tells me one thing, we get life once why not fulfill our dreams rather than a life full of regret at a later stage. She has instilled in me qualities of hard work, truthfulness and to follow my dreams with integrity and passion. Ramila Parekh my mother has been a rock where I can always get emotional and spiritual support whenever I am down and in need of a shoulder. I am fortunate to have a mother and a best friend all in one.
  • Honestly for me modeling has always been a passion and whether I have made it enough or not I think what satisfies me is my souls blissfulness, and when am walking the ramp, it gives me immense pleasure as I am the brightest star among other stars. when we have passion in our life, we tend to do it more because that is what gives us inner happiness and yes, I have it.
  • I have seen youth being more inspired from me, this comes up with a small story which I remember when I was studying Aviation in India. A girl who was studying aviation with me got to know about my modeling and the shows I was part in. She was very eager to learn the walk, which I thought was more of fun at that time, we would walk, laugh on our silly gait. This was all casual because she was keen to be a cabin crew however little did, I know that she would take it as a profession, while we talk about her today, she has made it big in Indian fashion. This gives me immense satisfaction that my passion inspired someone to take up modelling and going places.
  • For me being a local or international model doesn’t make a difference ,yes it is important to have exposure in this industry which I have enough, Honestly it doesn’t matter whether my reach is African market or the local market ,I see Africa as one and in my travels in the African subcontinent I have keenly observed that the fashion is quite similar of course the designers whom I have worked with are brilliant and bring out the mesmerizing beauty  of African material which is known as Kitenge and I am working on something very interesting and  beautiful which will be a mix of two continents and will come out soon on my Instagram handle khushbooparekhofficial.
  • My journey started in 2010 when I won Miss India Uganda Runner-up, I can never forget the feeling when my name was called out ,it was a paradisical moment for me, since then life has been awesome I have had a fortune to work with brilliant minds. I had an opportunity to represent Uganda for Miss India worldwide 2011 which took place in Abudhabi. Recently I shared nominations for best Entrepreneur in Zikomo Awards in Zambia 2022. I have been nominated in Kenya and Ghana Awards. I did a photo shoot for Fannys collection in zambia, she is a beautiful soul and her designs were astounding. I am also part of a collaboration with Zambia and Benin artist in a song called rock your body now which will be out very soon. Breaking the ice, I will be launching my own production called Taara Productions where I intend to promote new talents and fulfill the unlimited dreams of budding artists.
  • Uganda is on the forefront and have always been supportive for local and international artists, every now and then there have been events to showcase local talent which pulls out fashion enthusiasts from all over the country. As Uganda has a lot of expatriate’s population, I feel there will be a time when Uganda will showcase its talent worldwide and will be a force to reckon in international fashion industry.
  • Be yourself and follow your dreams, no dream is small or big if it makes you happy, fart on people with a big grin on your face haha, that is for all those who discourage and pull you down. Whatever you do, do it with honesty and integrity and learn to say no when required. always listen to your intuition and believe you can and you are half way there. Think about it this way, how would you feel when you are living your dreams and whatever you saw in your mind? Infact I want you to ask this question when you are reading this. Let us not please others, rather learn to live for your own self at the end its YOU that matter.
