In Kenya today there are increased numbers of deaths which are within the country which are related to domestic violence. For example a mother may opt to poison the kids and later commit suicide or even the father may kill the rest of the family members and commit suicide. Also there are men who have treaded to killing of their former lovers after they refuse to enter in love relationship with them anymore after the breakup or disagreement.
It was reported that in Gilgil Mollen Akinyi a mother of three children poisoned all her three children and later committed suicide of which their bodies were recognized while were decomposing in her house without the knowledge of her neighbors or her fellow tenants.
Also in Kiriga after a seventy old Desty Onyango realized that her wife Jesca Onyango had an affair with a clergy man he decided to go and commit suicide and his body was found beside the river bark which left the villagers with lot of questions about his death.
Finally in Nairobi a man burnt the body of his former lover after she refused to enter in love relationship with him anymore. Mary Musembi sent her house helpers to the “duka” to buy some stuffs after she received her visitor and promised them not to hurry to come back into the house. She was found tied on the bed and her body completely burnt and automatically she lost her life painfully.
It is the high time for the ministry of internal security to wake up and pull up their socks and find solution to this prevailing circumstance in the country.
Also it the high time for the Kenyan government to chip in and legislate strict laws to govern this crimes in the country. For the citizens who will be found guilty after the investigation and also recognized that they do not have any mental disorder to be subjected to the court of law to be judged upon with justice to the mourning family.
Also it is the high time for the Kenyan citizens to unite and be their own brothers keepers hence they will reduce this violence in the country and we will be safe.
