Nairobi β€” K-Unity SACCO has urged its members and the public to make 2026 a year of improved financial health by embracing a structured saving culture through its 52-Week Savings Challenge, a programme designed to turn New Year resolutions into sustainable habits.

The SACCO, through its Holiday Account, offers participants an annual interest rate of 7.5 per cent, payable at the end of the year, providing both motivation and tangible returns for consistent savers.

Formerly known as Kiambu Unity Finance Co-operative Union Limited, K-Unity is a SASRA-accredited co-operative registered under the Co-operative Societies Act (Cap 490) and operates under the Ministry of Co-operatives and Marketing. It was established in 1974 following the merger of Limuru Marketing Co-operative Union and Kiambu Dairy Marketing Union to support savings and credit needs for dairy and pyrethrum societies in Kiambu County.

Over the years, the SACCO has expanded its footprint and services, growing into a regional financial institution with an asset base of over Sh6 billion and a membership exceeding 100,000 members across Kiambu, Nairobi, Nakuru, Narok and Nyandarua counties.

K-Unity’s leadership said the savings challenge is part of a broader strategy to promote financial inclusion, resilience and long-term planning among members.

The SACCO operates under the vision β€œto be the preferred financial services partner” and a mission of delivering affordable, accessible and innovative financial solutions.

Industry observers attribute K-Unity’s steady growth and strong member confidence to the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Simon Njenga, whose strategic and professional management has strengthened the institution’s financial performance and service delivery.

As Kenyans navigate a challenging economic environment, K-Unity says disciplined saving remains one of the most effective tools for securing personal and household financial stability.
