Businessman and human rights defender Wambugu Nyamu will be contesting the senatorial seat for Nyeri County.
Nyamu, the Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) national deputy Secretary General in charge of Strategy will be seeking to be the third Nyeri Senator.
If he wins, he will replace Ephraim Maina Kirinyaga who is not defending his seat but has instead declared his interest for the gubernatorial seat.
With his declaration, Nyamu will be competing with among others former Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando.
Wambugu says once elected, he will have a good platform to champion for the rights of Kenyans.
