Nursing officials cutting a cake to commemorate the event

The National Nurses Association of Kenya (NNA-Kenya) yesterday officially launched the Nurses week.
The event launched at the Nyeri town Health Centre grounds in Nyeri town was attended by the nurses council officials among other government and corporate officials.
This year’s nurses week will run from 5th May to 13th May with the theme being Nursing the World Back to Health.
In light of this tradition, the County Government of Nyeri led by Governor Mutahi Kahiga wishes to appreciate all our nurses for the essential role in they play in the society today by being advocates for health promotion, educating the public and patients on preventing injury and illnesses, participating in rehabilitation, and providing care and support.
Nurses, representative, nurses’ managers and students from medical schools and hospitals present were taken through educative sessions on mental health.
Finance and Health Ag. CEC Robert Thuo, Director Health Services Dr Nelson Muriu and County Nursing Director Nelly Muiruri were also present.
