Deputy President Dr William Ruto yesterday met UDA Kieni constituency parliamentary aspirant Njoroge Wainaina alias Chieni and his competitors.
During the meeting, the competitors, John Choromai, Charles Kiama, Alex Wachira and Amos Kanyai agreed to support Chieni in his bid to unseat current MP Kanini Kega. “I congratulate the Kieni Constituency UDA Parliamentary aspirants for believing in the party and its philosophy. Thank you for accepting the outcome of our party primaries and agreeing to support Mheshimiwa Anthony Wainaina who won the party ticket. That is true leadership,” the DP said after meeting them at his Karen office.
Other leaders who have declared interest in the Kieni parliamentary seat includes businessman Stephen Kiriungi Muchire of the Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) and Wachira Keen of Chama Cha Kazi.
