According to the research done, mortality rates as a result of alcohol consumption are higher compared to deaths as a result of fatal diseases such as tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. It has also been discovered that the percentage of Kenyans aged between 15-65years are current in the consumption of alcohol and most likely addicted to it.
Prolonged or over drinking of alcohol results to both physical and psychological effects. This is majorly on the part of students ie, the university students where most of them are psychologically affected and no longer concentrate on their studies. The long term effects of too much alcohol consumption include alcoholism, cancer, liver diseases etc. Some result to violence thus resulting to serious injuries.
It has been discovered that Nairobi being the capital city of Kenya has got the highest number of victims who excessively use alcohol. This includes the youth, men as well as women.
