It is with great sadness that I have learnt of the passing on of Kenya’s Statesman, the Third President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E.President Mwai Kibaki.
On behalf of myself, my family and the National Assembly, I wish to express our heartfelt sympathies to President Kibaki’s family.
President Kibaki’s untimely demise leaves a huge gap among our African elderly statesmen whom ourselves as younger leaders looked upto from time to time for wise counsel on leadership.
He will be remembered as a gentle but prolific leader who placed Kenya on a pedestal of economic transformation and served our nation with unparalleled dedication, a clear sense of public service and duty, for close to half a century.
In President Kibaki, we mourn the passing on of a distinguished son of Kenya and a great icon whose strong belief that public service is not an avenue for self-gratification but an opportunity to better the lives of others. He was an amiable and distinguished man full of cheer. He leaves an indelible print in the journey of Kenya’s economic transformation.
President Kibaki has indeed earned his place in the history of the making of our great nation. May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace.
Hon. Justin B.N. Muturi, E.G.H., MP
Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya.
