Former Mwea constituency Member of Parliament Peter Gitau alias Equity Ndogo has joined Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) and hopes to use the party to contest the Kirinyaga County gubernatorial position.

Gitau decamped from Party of Unity (PNU) which is headed by Laikipia County Governor Nderitu Muriithi and joined CCK whose party leader is  Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.

He was welcomed in the party by Kuria on Saturday .

Gitau joins the party a few weeks after hosting the PNU top leadership in the country where they held a series of meetings in all the four constituencies.

During the meetings, the PNU team led by Muriithi and party chairman David Kamau urged the voters to support Gitau saying he was the right person to be the county’s third governor.

On his part, Gitau promised to transform the county by among other things,  addressing the plight of farmers in all sectors,  addressing the health sector and infrastructure.
