AVIATION INDUSTRY POST COVID-19 PANDEMIC: KENYA’S FLYING CAPTAIN IAN

I am Captain Ian Kiplimo Koech, a Pilot based in Johannesburg City, South Africa however, I was brought up in Eldoret Town in Kenya.
Aviation sector has picked up within the past one year. Before then, Covid-19 pandemic had brought to a standstill all operations particularly in the Aviation Industry.
This in effect had its repercussions such as: Grounding of majority of aeroplanes and cancellation of majority of flights both domestically and internationally in countries globally.
Due to that, lots of crew from various airlines lost their jobs however, everything in the industry is taking an improvement trajectory and within the next few years, all shall be fully in operation.
Nowadays, both domestic and international flights are operational with the compliance of World Health Organization (W.H.O) safety guidelines regarding combating Covid-19 pandemic.
Such safety guidelines include: Getting full-dose vaccination, wearing face masks, sanitization of hands and surfaces, temperature checks before and after boarding flights as well as maintaining safe social distance in public areas.
