Kirinyaga County Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri is leaving nothing to chance as seeks to be the next Chief Executive Officer in the area.
Ndambiri has been moving from one constituency to other addressing massive supporters as he seeks their support ahead of Jubilee party nominations where an aspirant will be picked to vie the gubernatorial seat using the ruling party ticket.
During the weekend, Ndambiri toured his native Mwea constituency where he addressed thousands of his supporters.
During the campaign tour, a Mwea Declaration was hatched where the residents of the most populars constituency vowed to ensure he bags the Jubilee nomination certificate for the gubernatorial position.
He held two massive public rallies at Mutithi Good Samaritan play ground in Mwea West Sub County and Kiriko play ground Mwea East Sub County where the residents declared him as the third Kirinyaga County Governor.
His supporters who addressed the meetings said they will accept nothing short of free and fair nomination which they disclosed that they were optimistic that the Deputy Governor will win.
They hatched a Mwea Declaration which they dubbed “No Ndambiri, No Jubilee ”
On his part, Ndambiri said he was sure of getting the Jubilee ticket as he was the most qualified and popular leader among those who were seeking the party nomination.
Further, he noted, he was the most experienced person to effectively and efficiently handle the county as its chief executive officer, having served as a deputy governor.
“I have the experience and expertise to take Kirinyaga County far in terms of development. I have learnt a lot as a deputy governor and if you give me a chance, I will not let you down,” he said, a message he has been repeating in his meetings and which resonate well with the locals who have vowed to support his bid.
He had been criticising the current governor Ann Waiguru saying she has failed in her mandate and shouldn’t be reelected.
In the Jubilee nominations, Ndambiri is expected to face off with the current Senator Charles Kibiru and former governor Joseph Ndathi.
Others in the race are the current governor Waiguru, Women Representative Wangui Ngirichi, former Mwea MP Peter Gitau and former cabinet minister Martha Karua.
