BY JUNE MWANGANGI
PEN NAME : ZARI
With pain tearing me apart,
In black and white I write,
With tears breaking my sockets,
Penning this I hope to you it gets,
Hoping that my soul finds peace.
A career I chose to render help,
Your institution I stepped so dear,
My colleagues I took you as my parents,
Little did I know,
I was feeding dogs to bite me.
My duties I did respectively,
Respect to you I offered a full purse,
Why then tarnish my young name?
If my services were no longer needed,
Was it hard to scribble a termination letter?
A sharp knife stabbed my back,
The holder of the knife I termed so dear,
Marines and demons you framed me,
So young you called me a member of the family,
When I had no idea of the marine kingdom.
As helpless as a church mouse,
Filling a case against you I debated,
With many thoughts draining my energy,
To God my case I filled,
A judge He is, justice I long.
February has always been my worst,
February birthday with no wish from mine favourite,
February valentine with no acknowledgement from mine,
February of false accusations which tears me every day.
One year is now gone but the wound is fresh,
Fresh, fine tears I shed at every thought,
God, why allow this happen to me?
Why this strong an accusation?
Twenty fourth February a day was printed in my lungs
