Members of the clergy have welcomed a proposal by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwah who said that His Excellency Dr William Ruto should consider clergy for appointive positions.
It’s a widely known fact that the church in Kenya plays a pivotal role in ensuring good governance.
Reacting to this Kenya Assembly of God Nyahururu Diocese Bishop Simon Kieru observed:
“They should be involved as to check and balance on integrity issues and being members of different government functions.”
He also welcomed the move as a step in the right direction and in compliance with the Constitutional provision of inclusivity.
“Yes this is very true if their prayers made him president, he should appoint them as advisers of various governments’ duties.”
