President William Ruto yesterday presided over the official opening of the Kenya Police Stadium at the Kenya Police Pavilion grounds in Nairobi’s South-C area.
The 5,000 capacity stadium with a football pitch that will be the home ground for the fiery Police FC was constructed with the financial support of the Head of State and the Kenya Police SACCO.
The main purpose of the stadium is to encourage a sporting culture within the police service and nurture the physical, mental and emotional well-being of our officers in the service.
The National Police Service has several teams in different top-tier leagues in Kenya including the Kenya Police FC, the GSU Volleyball Team who are Kenya’s National Champions, DCI Women’s Volleyball team, reigning Kenya’s boxing champions ‘Chafua Chafua’ among others that will be utilizing the facility.
