Deputy President Dr William Ruto, his running mate Rigathi Gachagua with Nakuru County UDA candidates on Monday

Deputy President Dr William Ruto and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua have met United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidates from Nakuru to quell differences amongst them.
With slightly over 50 days remaining before the General Election is held, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance coalition presidential team has in the recent days been uncomfortable with the political differences being exhibited by the UDA candidates in the county.
The candidates were on Monday summoned to the DP’s official residence in Karen, Nairobi where the meeting took place.
Sources said the DP revealed that the continued rift between them had cost their coalition a substantial number of supporters.
He is said to have told them that the outright differences were turning out to be a blessing in disguise for their main competitors, the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance which is headed by Raila Odinga and his deputy designate Martha Karua.
Further, the team was informed that save for the senatorial candidate Ms Tabitha Karanja of Keroche Breweries, the others were trailing according to reliable opinion polls.
The only way out of the quagmire was for the team to mend their political differences and support each other.
They were told in no uncertain terms that teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision and that the ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives is the synergy that allows common people to attain uncommon results.
The team promised to put aside their differences and work together towards ensuring that they not only bag various seats they were recently cleared by IEBC to contest but also see to it that the coalition presidential team garnered more than 90 percent of votes.
Among those attended the meeting were Susan Kihika (governor) Tabitha Karanja (Senator), Liza Cherule (Women Representative) and all the 11 sub counties Members of Parliament UDA candidates.
