The Murang’a leader calls on residents to reject divisive politics and embrace unity, accountability and a bold shared vision for the county’s future
By John Kariuki
Dr. Naomi Kagone has reaffirmed her deep commitment to the people of Murang’a, calling for a new era of visionary, accountable and people-centred leadership — one built on service, integrity and sustainable development.
In a heartfelt message to residents, Dr. Kagone celebrated Murang’a as a county blessed with industrious farmers, innovative entrepreneurs, talented youth, resilient women and a rich cultural heritage. She described its people as the county’s greatest asset and the surest engine of its future prosperity.
Leadership, she said, should never be about titles, political power or empty promises. It should be about selfless service, honesty and the courage to place the interests of citizens above personal ambition. Murang’a, she added, deserves leaders who listen, plan strategically, deliver tangible results and create opportunities that benefit every household.
Dr. Kagone challenged residents to reject divisive politics and short-term thinking in favour of a united vision — one focused on expanding quality education, modernising agriculture, improving healthcare, creating meaningful employment for the youth, strengthening infrastructure, attracting investment and promoting transparent governance.
She expressed confidence that Murang’a has everything it needs to become one of Kenya’s leading economic powerhouses, provided its people remain united behind a shared vision of progress and accountability.
“The future of Murang’a will not be determined by the leaders we admire, but by the leaders we choose and the values we uphold together,” she said, urging citizens to demand integrity, excellence and measurable results from those entrusted with public office.
Dr. Kagone painted an inspiring picture of a Murang’a where every young person has hope and access to opportunity, every farmer earns a dignified income, businesses flourish, families enjoy improved livelihoods and communities thrive in an environment of peace, innovation and inclusive growth.
She closed by calling on residents to work together in shaping a brighter future grounded in unity, integrity, innovation and sustainable development — expressing quiet confidence that the county’s greatest days still lie ahead.
