A forum for agricultural technologies stakeholders will be hosted in Nyeri County this Friday.
The expo, whose them is “Improving Livelihoods by Increasing Agricultural Productivity & Income Using Modern Technology” will be held at Mweiga stadium, Kieni West Sub-County and has attracted dozens of exhibitors.
The event is organized by a private firm; Avantuah Ventures in partnership with among others, Couny Government of Nyeri , Kenya National Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (KNCCI), Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project, Kenya Dairy Board and other key Stakeholders along the Agriculture Value Chains.
Avantuah Ventures whose Managing Director is Martin M. Ndirangu specialises in training through holding capacity building forums which involves sharing to the public, opportunities available in the agri sector.
During the one day Friday’s event, the Expo will focus on among other things, training farmers on how to bring down the cost of production, Fertilizer, Chemical use and Safety as well as embracing new technologies in the agricultural sector like modern irrigation methods and water harvesting.
Other areas of focus will be general livestock health, production and husbandry, modern zero grazing dairy farming systems practices and agricultural produce value addition and marketing
Those who will attend will have an opportunity to be senstized on how to identify opportunities the agricultural sector has for them like enhancing smallholder farmers Access to Agricultural machinery and equipment, enhancing the importance of Agriculture mechanization to boost agricultural production and enhancing farmers on use of Certified Seeds For Planting and helping farmers identify thriving agricultural enterprises
The farmers will further be trained on Climate-smart Agriculture and combating climate change agro impacts and Post-harvest handling, Organic farming market opportunities.
