James Reriani Gachagua

The family of Deputy President Dr William Ruto’s pointman in Mountain region, Rigathi Gachagua has lost its eldest brother.
Businessman James Reriani Gachagua died last week at the age of 78.
He was step brother to Rigathi who is a younger brother to the Nyeri County pioneer governor,ย the late Nderitu Gachagua.
On Sunday,ย Rigathi took his Facebook page to disclose the demise of his stepbrother saying, “We thank God for the life of our eldest brother and the head of the greater Gachagua family, James Reriani Gachagua who has gone to be with the Lord after a long illness bravely borne. We give glory to the Lord for the 78 years he lived and hold his immediate family in prayer as we embark on arrangements to lay him to rest. May his soul rest in eternal peace”.
The late Rerian was a Nairobi based businessman and like his stepbrothers,ย he had political interests in Nyeri County.
During the 2013 General Election that saw his stepbrother, Nderitu Gachagua elected the first governor of Nyeri, he contested the Mathira parliamentary seat on Saba Saba Asili political party ticket where he lost the election to Peter Weru.
After losing the election,ย Reriani,ย a Telecommunications Engineer retired from politics and decided to concentrate on private business.
