Githurai residents have received a significant boost to healthcare access following the opening of a new Outpatient branch of Gulf Hospital in the area.

The facility was officially launched by the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, Grace Muthuma, who reaffirmed her commitment to reducing maternal deaths and enhancing the overall health and wellbeing of families within the community.

Speaking on Friday after inspecting the newly unveiled facility situated just a short distance from the Thika Superhighway, Muthuma emphasized the hospital’s increased capacity and its readiness to deliver reliable, top-tier medical services to the public.

She revealed that the new branch is equipped to offer advanced orthopaedic care, supported by a team of qualified specialists, modern diagnostic equipment, and a fully operational surgical theatre.

Muthuma praised the medical team, describing them as highly skilled, compassionate, and fully prepared to serve Githurai residents with professionalism. She added that expanding and strengthening maternal healthcare remains one of the hospital’s key priorities. Ongoing investments in infrastructure, staffing, and specialized services, she said, are part of the hospital’s long-term strategy to save lives and provide dignified, quality care to mothers and families.

The CEO further urged locals to enroll with the Social Health Authority (SHA), assuring them that the new branch fully accommodates SHA coverage, making healthcare services more affordable and accessible to all.

During the unveiling of what now becomes Gulf Hospital’s sixth branch, Reverend Bishop Mirugi applauded the expansion, commending the institution for its dedication to serving the community. He encouraged residents to embrace regular voluntary medical check-ups, noting that early detection plays a vital role in preventing severe illnesses and improving long-term health outcomes.

With the new outpatient facility now operational, Githurai residents can look forward to improved access to essential health services, enhanced maternal care, and expanded treatment options for patients in need of specialized medical support.
