Worth Noting:
- Even if the elected leaders are being spoonfed to us by their godfathers’, we should possess a tied mind that we should be able to choose between wheat and charm. Even if we see a capable leader not in our die-hards political parties he/she should give a chance to table his/her potential.
- We should have an inner eye to see and distinguish between leaders and politicians since politicians are full of empty and rhetorical promises. A leader is gauged not only on his/her wisdom but also but deeds since action talks louder than words.
From previous and the ongoing party nomination (primaries) that have been conducted by various political parties in different counties and national wide is much alarming. We’ve seen some political parties have given direct nomination-certificate to their preferred MCAs, MPs, women rep, senators and also governors. The ‘anointed’ candidates are favored based on different motives; popularity, nepotism or even corruption.
The present political temperatures in the country are still rooted in ethnicity and tribalism. For instance if one to vie either Uasin Ngishu, Nyanza, Kambaland and Mt. Kenya region the very individual has to have been crowned either by UDA, ODM, WIPER and Jubilee respectively. This has led to series of things to happen to happen so that aspirants may win the heart of political leaders so that they are favoured. Some aspirants have been killed in a cold blood others have been assassinated by their fellows just to outsmart and outshine them to be crowned as the political flag bearer in different positions.
This has led to democracy to be seen as a vice since it is not practiced among the political parties and am pretty sure it was penned down in political parties’ regulations. Most of the crowned fellows by political parties are good for nothing leaders, since they are portrayed as a project, but funny enough; it’s ironical that most of our voters are strongly grounded in tribalism in a way they, even if the one who was directly nominated by certain political party is a frog, during general elections voters will always elect him/her even if the latter does not fit. The formers are ready to learn in a hard way till the upcoming election or if there could be a by-election.

Due to various factors this has led to potential leaders to lack chance and in turn they prefer to run as independent candidates, but our fellows have taken oaths not under any circumstances shall they vote for independent candidates and little did they know that voting for their good for nothing leaders based on political parties is jumping directly from the pan direct to the live furnace. That is why we are having leaders leading in records of crime, abuse and corruption and because they don’t have virtue that’s why they are running everything to shamble and embezzlement of funds and resources.
It is high time for us to have ‘independent party of Kenya’, a political party that is not based on tribalism and ethnicity, it is something that should be done, must be done and if not we’re done. If we continue with the present trend we will be retrogressive day in day out, after every five years to have a general election we will be having a step backwards. We need to change before changes change us since IT IS NOT YET UHURU!!
