Jubilee MPs Ngunjiri Wambugu, Wanjiku Kibe and Jeremiah Kioni arrive for a consultative meeting with party supporters in Nyeri town yesterday.

Jubilee party Members of Parliament have embarked on a vigorous campaign in a bid to revive the party ahead of its national delegates set later this month.
To start with, over 1000 Jubilee supporters in Nyeri Town and Mukurwe-ini constituencies of Nyeri County met yesterday where they were taken through on the need to revive the party.
During the meeting attended by over 10 MPs and other political leaders, the party supporters were cautioned that failure to have strong party representing the region shall be akin to muzzling them and denying them a political voice after President Uhuru Kenyatta exits from power.
Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu who was the host outlined to them how ODM, ANC, Wiper parties among others have earned themselves respect particularly when key decisions are made in the parliament due to their numbers.
He said that lack of similar strength of representation in the National Assembly, Senate and even county assemblies will automatically lock them out of decision making table, a thing they should now fight to reject.
Other MPs in the meeting were Jeremiah Kioni ( Ndaragwa), Wanjiku Kibe ( Gatundu North) and Shurie Abdi of Mbalambala who noted that the party will remain strong under the leadership of President Kenyatta even after General Elections.
The MPs also took the opportunity to criticise Deputy President Dr William Ruto, accusing him of hatching a political plot aimed at denying the region a voice in governance by ensuring that they do not have a party of their own as a region.
“You should expect more of similar activities since President Kenyatta is set to visit the region to let people understand why he fell out with his deputy as he has in several occasions promised to do,” Kioni observed.
Ngunjiri on the other hand said that the Deputy President has reached the dead end of his efforts to popularise his presidential bid given that he defied pleas by his boss not to start early campaigns instead of waiting for the right to do so.
The leaders said plans were in place to have such forums in all regions that the party command following.
