Letter from the Diaspora to the Mountain

Governor Lee Kinyanjui

By Lee Kinyanjui

Looking at your eyes in recent days, I have seen anger and disappointment. You are not the self that we used to know.

Your confidence has gone down, and your resolve to fight for your space has diminished. You are a pale shadow of yourself.

The people you elected to show you direction and safeguard your future are busy listening to the ground. Had Michuki listened to the ground when he pronounced himself in 2011.

Those that looked upto you with envy are now laughing at you. They are cheering you as you destroy yourself, and in your disillusion, this greatness.

I have not seen a man angry with self to the extent of self-mutilation.

Your anger can only destroy you.

Take a deep breath and reflect on your future.

No matter how deep a friendship between a goat and a leopard, eventually one ends up as a meal to the other.

Lee Kinyanjui is the Governor of Nakuru County and also Ubuntu Peoples Forum (UPF) Party Leader.
