Invention of motorbikes or so called motorcycle was a good stride. More so in offering door to door services as compared to basic services offered by bicycles called ‘bodaboda’.
Motorbikes were used and are still used to enhance security in government sector and parastatals. The village chiefs are given motorbikes to ensure they reach people whom they serve in click of second in case of anything or else. We can’t forget to mention the health sector’s ‘bora afya’ officers and Kenya Power and Lighting Company to make sure they offer solution to their clients in case of an emergency or any other thing as a major factor.

On the other hand, motorbikes have accelerated the rate of accidents in the country. The list is endless if we try to count the number of those who have succumbed from accidents as far as motorbikes are concerned. How many people who have lost their body parts just because of reckless cyclist of bikes? It isn’t a shock to see a bike loaded with a gang of up to five people comfortably seated to be taken to their various destinations. Without riding gears(helmet and reflector jackets). Just because of the hurry or so called money. The very motorbikes are being ridden on a lightning speed such that in case of emergence the speed itself is beyond control.
How many boys who have dropout of school because of motorbikes? How many cases that have been filled in courts waiting for hearing just because of being impregnated with bodaboda riders? School going boys who have chosen to contradict with school rules and regulation tend to think by being a motorbike rider will smoothen their lives. These are very people without licences and skills take their naivety in tarmac roads where they meet the mighty angel of death, who don’t hesitate and does not miss his words. Similarly, most of bodaboda riders take advantage of the young girls just because of their biological things. Bodaboda salivates to girls who lack basic things, since they see a bait trap to quench thier evil thirst.
In addition, motorbikes have been majorly used as a source of drug trafficking. Mostly in rural places. ‘Chang’aa’ from local brews and other illegal liquors are being transported by use of motorbikes. Even those who uses marijuana, heroin and opium for example. Are mostly the very people using motorbikes?
No one hates achievements, but in the present era. Motorbikes are figured as the main spice in retrogressing people’s lives in society. For instance, there are rude riders who doesn’t pity for their body. In cold climatic confitions, they don’t put on gears to combat pneumonia and such, which have altered people’s live. Does this mean the abbreviation TVS means Tuangamize Vijana Sasa ? Having motorbike as a source of living hood let it not be seen as someone who doesn’t know how to use a gun to have been given and the latter points the gun to himself while already pressing the trigger.
