In the year 2019, my first small step into the world of literature was my first poetry book – ‘Forgotten Love Unforgotten Love’. It is a collection of 22 poems on love, devotion and friendship. One thing I would like to mention here about this book is that, the poems in the book are in the chronological order of penning them down. It was January 2019 when I wrote my first poem and by May 2019 all the 22 poems I discovered within me took the form of black strokes that we call words.
- What motivates you?
First and foremost, my wife, Smt. Somasree Ganguli, is the biggest motivator and critics for my. Apart from her, few names I would like to mention here who are not only my well-wisher and friends but also help me in every possible way in my author’s journey. They are – Mrs. Papia Ghosh (Pal), Dr. Janardan Ghosh, and Mr. Satadal Lahiri.

His primary inspiration is his daughter who came to this world on 10th December 2018. Apart from this, there is a long list of people behind him who are not only friends but a real well-wishers too.
- What are the challenges you have faced?
As an author, sometimes managing time is really a tough one sometimes as after the work, giving time to the family. But the thoughts and zeal to do or create something new in any of the creative field from painting to creative writing motivates him to take atleast an hour everyday to fulfil the desire.

Title: Do Not Leave Me
Subtitle: A saga of love amidst nature. (A Different Love Story from Thailand)
A story that will take you from the high rises of Bangkok to the paddy fields in Kalasin and you will find yourself amidst nature with beautiful waterfalls, monasteries and ancient pagodas.
In a world full of selfish dispositions, it is indeed a difficult proposition to come across who can shower unconditional love and camaraderie. This is an aspect that has been aptly portrayed in this story that is based amongst the pristine backdrop of Thailand. The characterizations, imagery and the turn of events have been expertly aligned to bring out the various unknown factors amongst known territories. The vices of humans know no boundaries and the yearning for wealth often propels people to take up dark and nefarious means which create unsavory circumstances within a peaceful ecosystem. The desire to acquire wealth through unethical means has been causing myriads of misery for mankind. In this book too this unhealthy demeanor has been depicted quite vividly.
Another aspect that stands out beautifully in this story is the verity of human relationships. In a selfish and uncaring world, it is indeed rare to discover people with the chaste intent to help others, unconditionally. The world thrives on empathy, compassion and co-operation. Wealth has always been wrongly proclaimed to be the parameter for measuring success. The real measure of attainment is however, the acquisition of honest and pure relationships. This story is bears a strong evidence to this statement.
The story goes like this –
Pavel is a 19-year-old spoiled brat busy with his multi-millionaire lifestyle. Booze, bars and girls are his preferred pastime. But such a reckless lifestyle comes with a price. A gang of thieves assault him and take him far away from his home in Bangkok, Thailand. When Pavel returns to consciousness, he no longer remembers who he is.
Noi is a hardworking young man aged 23 who comes upon Pavel by a twist of fate. He invites the amnesiac Pavel to his home. Pavel and Noi grow close together. In the meantime, the thieves are still searching for their booty aka Pavel. Will they finally find Pavel? Elsewhere, Pavel’s father is also searching for his missing son. Will he be able to locate his son before the thieves make good their threat? And what will happen to the budding love between Pavel and Noi?
Title: Let Me Hold Your Hand
Subtitle: A story of overcoming obstacles and rising beyond suffering.
“Love doesn’t have to be always for lovers, it can touch anyone with whom we are comfortable, to whom we can give all our worries.”
This one is my first English novel. It is not completely a fiction, rather it is based on a tragic incident involving one of my students and I came to know about it after his departure from this beautiful earth. It forced me to write about the loss in the form of a story. I have changed the name of the characters here to protect their identities. The supporting events and incidents are all imaginative as required in a fiction.
The story goes like this –
Sourav, a young man of 28 years, has a dream of becoming a famous author. But his family doesn’t approve of his writing, and he is forced to forget about his dream. Later he takes up a teaching job in a government high school.
Preetam has always wanted to work in the IT field. But after a terrible accident, he lost both his legs. Traumatized and depressed by the event, Preetam gives up all his dreams of becoming an IT expert.
When Sourav hears about his ex-student Preetam, he reaches out to help. But the accident has left Preetam bitter and angry and he refuses help from Sourav.
- Will Sourav be able to reach his dream of becoming a famous author?
- Will Preetam be able to come out of his trauma and focus on his career?
- Will both of them be able to overcome their struggle or will they succumb to their misfortunes?

Title: Phira Asha (Coming back)
Subtitle: Bhalobashar Bondhutto (Friendship leads to Love)
This is my second fiction and first fiction as a Bengali fiction – Phire Asha. It is completely a fiction and based on a gay relationship. The story is around two boys and the problem that they faced with their families. There are misconceptions about counselling. Either people take that as a shame brought upon the family or sometimes they try to override the counselor with their own thought process. Both are wrong and that can lead to more critical and worsened situation. In this story, I tried my best to focus on them.
The story goes like this –
Arindom and Rupankor are bosom friends, live in the same apartment and study in the same school and class. Where Arindom is a smart, daring and fearless boy, Rupankor is shy, sweet and introvert in nature. The friendship that grows over the years changed to intimate love when they were in the eleventh standard, but nobody could guess about the new dimension in their friendship from outside. Their hidden personal box gets filled with letters, cards, and gifts, whereas for the world they remain the best of friends.
There is a twist in the story.
- Who is that older man waiting for his death in isolation? Will he be set free someday, or the abandoned house will become his burial ground?
- What is the relation between the older man and these sweet boys who were best friend-turned-boyfriend, with every action changed to a new meaning for them?
- What will happen if their parents come to know about their secret relationship? How will society react to this new form of love?
- What are your future plans?
These are my upcoming projects:
- Bengali poetry book – Moner Obhibekti
- Second poetry book on English poems
- A book on horror stories (English/Bengali)
- Fiction – ‘Let Me Wait For You’
- A Sequel of the fiction – Do Not Leave Me
- A travelogue – Our short tour to Vietnam
- Where do you see yourself in next five years?
I would like to see myself as a well-known author in the genre I prefer to write. Though I try to write in all categories which include poetry from in love, devotion, friendship, in protest and abstract thoughts, short stories and novels on life but I have a separate feeling and love for stories on Gay relationship and Transgender people, their emotions, struggle, pain and happiness and above all the behaviour of the society towards them.

- Please give some valuable advice to the budding writing and authors so that they can get inspired by you?
I would like to say two things:
- Life is beautiful even if you get too many hurdles. So, don’t stop yourself at one failure.
- Everyone can write something the only thing is you need to give a proper direction and have a good imagination to be a good fiction writer. as the saying, you can go from A to Z by logic but imagination can take you anywhere.
