At least twenty MCAs from Kisii County Assembly and the assembly speaker David Kombo have shifted their support to Dagoretti North Member of parliament Simba Arati to succeed Governor James Ongwae in the August general elections.
This comes after wrangles emerged in the ODM party at the County level on who the incumbent Governor James Ongwae will support in the campaigns a head of the elections.
Mr Ongwae has been a silent victim on who to endorse a head of the nominations between Senator Sam Ongeri, His Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, CAS Chris Obure and former South Mugirango MP Manson Nyamweya to succeed him.
Arati’s entry to Kisii Gubernatorial race is changing shape of Kisii politics as a number of elders,the youth and Women groups have already endorsed him.
Kisii assembly speaker Kombo who is out of office over court orders for months has now joined Simba team saying he is ready to support him on his gubernatorial bid.
Speaker Kombo and Governor Ongwae are currently fighting a cold war between them for months now.

Further Arati said he has no criminal record and he has been elected for two terms, he noted those alleging am a criminal let them show my criminal record.
“This time round clanism strategy which has played for many years by political veterans will never work, we are outsmarting them this round and our cards are smarter,” said Arati.
Robert Monda who is deputizing Arati said that their move is to ensure ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga has become the president and the county has gunnered ODM seats unlike in the past.
Kitutu Chache South Mp Richard Onyonka who is vying for senatorial seat said that this time round they have laid strategies to ensure that the party carries free and fair party nominations.
Apart from Simb Arati, among those seeking to succeed Governor Ongwae include Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, Kisii Senetor Sam Ongeri, CAS Chris Obure, Former South MP Omingo Magara, Kenya National Congress Party leader Manson Nyamweya, USA Ex Military Charles Matoke, Rachel Otundo Nyaribari Masaba MP Ezekiel Machogu and Alfred Nyangweso .
