Chief Justice Martha Koome joined members of the Sukuma Twende

Trust at the Karura Forest this morning for activities to celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day, which will be marked on March 8th.
This year’s theme for the International Women’s Day is ‘Break the Bias.’ Bias in individuals and social systems is a key contributor to inequalities in nearly every social domain.

The theme seeks to challenge discriminatory and gender biased systems. Its aims at championing collective change to empower the voices of women globally. It is necessary to combat the biases women face if we are to progress towards gender equality.
