PRAISE MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD, CRITIQUE MAKES YOU BETTER

Dr. Ritu Gupta

If you ever find it hard to accept criticism, you really need to use your own wisdom to decide and analyse the aim behind that criticism. Someone who really wants you to improve will never lower your self-esteem and will always use positive words or actions for encouragement. Learn to differentiate between constructive and destructive criticism.

Every one of us have faced criticisms in life. Most of the criticisms comes from people who surround you or the people you know. If you are a public figure, you will also experience criticism from those who are unknown too. If we take each and every criticism too seriously, we would be hampering our own progress. Criticisms are actually feedbacks.. given in a negative version. Interestingly, most of the times, the people who give these negative feedbacks are the ones who have never even experienced the situation, they are giving their verdict on. Such people actually want to imitate the ones they are criticizing, but, lack the courage, zeal and focus towards the motto, hence fail. So, the only way to hinder the one succeeding is to lower their morale and confidence..hence Criticisms! These are destructive criticisms.

But, not all critics are haters, some tell you the TRUTH. So be open to constructive criticisms. They help you be a better version of you. An inability to tolerate feedback is an inability to allow yourself personal growth. Criticism is a privilege that you earn. Accept it with poise.

Never stop to chase your dreams, just because others set standards and hinder your path to success. Believe in yourself. When faced with criticisms, use your own intelligence and willpower, using criticisms as a parameter to improve yourself beyond. Rise above judgements. Remember, it takes both sun and rain for a flower to grow, so accept both compliments and criticisms. Learn from criticisms but never take it personally. That’s the POWER OF YOUR SOUL!
