KCB, Equity Banks Scholarship Programs Benefit 37 Bright, Needy Laikipia County Students

A total of 37 bright but needy students from Laikipia County have benefitted from scholarships from two of the leading financial institutions in the country. These are academically gifted scholars from humble backgrounds who sat the 2022 KCPE examinations.
Twenty five have benefited from KCB Group Foundation Scholarship Program, while 12 benefitted from Equity Group Foundation’s Elimu Scholarship Laikipia County Chapter.
The 12 benefitting scholars will receive comprehensive scholarships that cover tuition, books, uniform, transport costs and pocket money for the four-year period they are in school.
The commissioning and flagging off of these two distinct programs took place in Nanyuki and were both presided over by Deputy Governor Reuben Kamuri.
Kamuri said the county government is committed to realise 100 per cent transition in education as it is the key to a bright future. Through provision of bursaries by the county government, other needy students are expected to benefit from such noble causes.
