Boda Boda Riders Urged to Be Ambassadors of Peace Amid Security Measures

Boda Boda operators have been urged to demonstrate patriotism and act as ambassadors of peace by identifying and reporting any criminal elements among themselves.
During a meeting with security officials in Kisii County, County Commissioner Tom Anjere emphasized that maintaining security is a collective responsibility.
He encouraged riders to develop a habit of promptly forwarding any suspicious leads that could potentially disrupt peace within their respective duty stations.
Anjere emphasized the importance of not remaining silent when identifying suspicious activities.
Instead, he urged the operators to make prompt reports to the police or other relevant authorities, allowing for immediate investigation.
“If you identify any suspicious happenings, do not keep quiet, instead make a prompt report to the police or other relevant authorities so that it can be investigated at once,” he said
To address any concerns about confidentiality, Anjere assured the operators that their reports would be treated with utmost confidentiality by the police.
He highlighted the significance of such reports in resolving security challenges within society, considering the limited number of security personnel available to protect every individual across the country.
Furthermore, Anjere encouraged boda boda chairpersons to foster collaboration with other sectors to achieve meaningful success in maintaining security and peace.
Anjere announced that security teams would hold meetings in every sub-county to address and curb any instances of insecurity within the county.
He also mentioned that the county had implemented various measures to ensure the safety and security of its residents.
