Xonatlas is the Uzbek national fabric that embodies the brightest colors. National costumes are an important factor in instilling in young people a sense of appreciation and preservation of our national heritage.
“Xonatlas – 2023” festival was organized throughout Uzbekistan, also at Bukhara State University.
First, a parade of students dressed in national costumes was organized under the sound of a tambourine. The parade turned into a real celebration of beauty and national costumes.
The Uzbek household is famous all over the world. The technology of production of this fabric has been known for 4 thousand years.
Items made of silk fabrics, no matter how expensive they are, remain extremely popular, says M.Qurbanova, assistant professor of the Department of Archeology and History of Bukhara State University of Bukhara. – They added beauty to the beauty of women, increased the luxury of palaces. The tradition of making silk scarves and dresses continues in the distant past and today. When we think of Uzbek national fabrics, we see rainbow-colored satin dresses. Unique fabrics such as satin, adras, and bekasam created as a result of the hard work, skills, and abilities of master craftsmen are extremely valuable.
These beautiful fabrics, which express our ancient values, are considered our national treasure. It embodies the long and glorious past, ancient traditions, aesthetic outlook, taste and unique features of our people.
Atlas weaving has been developed in Margilon for a long time and has spread to other places. At the beginning of the 20th century, there were many satin weavers here. In 2017, the technology of weaving Uzbek silk fabrics was included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity, which shows the high position of our national fabrics in the world.
Today, the preservation of disappearing traditions, including the restoration of historical fabrics, is becoming more and more important.
At the event, a master class called “Xonatlas” was held for female students to the sound of national tunes. Concert programs, presentation of designers, public dance programs was also presented at the festival.
