Central Kenya region is solidly behind Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Nyeri County governor Mwalimu Mutahi Kahiga has asserted.
The region will continue supporting the DP in all aspects despite misgivings by some quarters, the governor said.
“There are no two ways. We are solidly behind and support President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua,” he said, adding that those supporting the DP were not concerned by utterances by some people who have a feeling that the former Mathira constituency Member of Parliament was not the best fitted to deputise Dr Ruto.
“You can say whatever you want to say. But for the country to move forward we must walk together and be peaceful,” the governor noted.
He noted that as the chairman of 10 governor allied to Central Region Economic Bloc (CEREB) he was optimistic that the area was fully behind the Deputy President and they would support him to the end.
CEREB region cover Nyeri, Nakuru, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Kiambu, Embu, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties.
Several other leaders have echoed similar sentiments with a call to officially crown the DP as the region kingpin.
