Trans Nzoia County deputy governor has been off limelight and county functions in the recent days. The county governor George Natembeya has been seen launching county activities without his DG in the last couple of weeks.
On Tuesday, the governor flagged off sunflower seeds distribution program at the Kenya Seed grounds in Kitale alongside the board chairman Agriculture and Food Authority(AFA) Hon. Cornelly Serem, AFA board directors, AFA board director general Willis Audi and Presidential Economic Transformation Secretariat and AFA nuts and oil crops directorate director Ms. Anne Gikonyo. The meeting aimed to promote the edible oil crops sub-sector through the provision of sunflower seeds to farmers ahead of the anticipated El Nino long rains in the region and the country.
On Thursday, Governor George Natembeya received a delegation from the commission on administrative justice (office of the ombudsman) at his office, according to the governor the discussion is geared towards getting solutions to mutual interest of the people of Trans Nzoia and explores opportunities for support and collaborations open to the county of Trans Nzoia.
Both during the launch of County Aggregation Industrial Park in ADC Namandala Farm in Kwanza Constituency in September, similarly, during the handing over and renaming of the referral hospital to Wamalwa Kijana Teaching and Referral Hospital, the governor was in company of Azimio leaders and other county leaders in September and August respectively.

The last county where the two leaders were seen together in July, when welcoming a team from Weald School from United Kingdom , who were building permanent classrooms for schools with mudwalled structures Trans Nzoia classrooms for Kenya, across the country.
Mr. Rufas Maina, a long-term resident of Trans Nzoia says, ever since governor e Natembeya took office, the county has since seen development and fruits of devolution, which the residents missed the last ten years. According to him, political ideologies and personal development should not hinder them from working together, as their work can be seen from the current happenings in the county.
“The two make a great a team with no doubt, however, their political stands and party loyalty should not be a reason for their fallout and quench the thirst of their opponents. It will be a win definitely to governor Natembeya’s rivals. Any person who visited the county early last year will be clearly amuses by the radical and drastic changes of the town. Whether it is true there is a fall out or not, the two should set aside their difference and provide service to the residents of Trans Nzoia that is the reason we placed them in the office. “Mr. Maina explained.
“The governor should tell us, he has remained silent on the matter, we don’t want to believe that there is a rift between them. It tends to happen female deputies and assistants in various capacity of leadership are being frustrated. We want a harmonious environment of working whether the leader is a man and assistant woman or vice versa to provide services to the people. Fallouts between the county bosses and their assistance have been very common since the beginning of devolution in 2013. For instance, in June this year Siaya DG William Oduol, survived an impeachment by 42 members of county assembly of Siaya, over misuse of public resources, abuse of office and violation of the constitution. Embattled Meru governor Mama Kawira Mwangaza survived and impeachment early days in office and was saved by the senate. However, the governor is currently facing a new impeachment bid from MCAs.
President William Ruto has called for leaders across all political divides to work together, put aside their difference and work together in the achievement of both the county and national government’s agenda.
