Governor George Natembeya in Friday reshuffled his cabinet barely three months after his first reshuffle since assuming office as the county boss.
Barely three months, the reshuffle touches key positions from County Executive Committee Members (CECMS) and chief officers. Some of the chief officers and cecms earlier moved have also been affected.
From County Public Communications circular signed by the governor, the reshuffle is aimed at continuing to improve service delivery for the residents of Trans Nzoia County, and takes effect immediately.
In the recent reshuffle, former lands CECM Janerose Mutsuma have been assigned as the new County Secretary. Other CECMs moved include Patrick Gacheru has been moved from Water, Environment, Natural Resources and climate change to Trade and industry.
The then County Secretary Truphosa Awour has been moved to health services and sanitation. While the embattled CECM who has been tabled before the county assembly alongside Ms. Truphosa Awour for impeachment, has been moved from Trade and industry to education and Technical training.
Boniface Wanyonyi from finance and economic planning to lands, housing, physical planning and urban development, Dr. Pepela Wanjala has been reassigned to finance and economic planning from Health Services and sanitation. Former Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Samson Ojwang has been moved again from education and Technical training to water, environment, natural resources and climate change. Ojwang served as the county secretary before being reassigned the education and Technical training department.
County Chief officers have also been rescheduled, including Patrick Osoro of lands has been moved to livestock development, fisheries and cooperative development, Sammy Simiyu formerly of governance has been moved to agriculture and irrigation. Joseph Wasike has been appointed as the new chief officer for roads and transport. Dr. Wanjala Emmanuel of health services and sanitation has been moved to governance.
Emmanuel Masungo of economic planning had been reassigned to finance, while his counterpart Ashton Mulupi has been moved to education and Technical training, Isaac Ndiema from agriculture and irrigation to economic planning, Dr. Judith Simiyu if health corporate services to health services and sanitation while Dr. Roselyn Nasiebanda of education and Technical training being a second move had been reassigned to lands, housing physical planning and urban development.
CECM agriculture Ms. Phanice Khatundi, public works Jackson Amboka and PSMs Julia Ruto, Philip Kapten and water chief officer have retained their position. During the ranking of the best performing CECMs in the country by Infotrak, Ms. Phanice Khatundi was named the best performing CECM countrywide.
