National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) Chairperson Rachael Musyoki has urged officials to stop corruption and ensure women can access grants.
Musyoki revealed that they are investigating several cases of fraud and will soon apprehend and charge unethical officers. Some cases were from the Coast region, where women face difficulties when applying for funds to boost their businesses.
Musyoki praised Mariakani Member of County Assembly Martha Koki for bringing together over 2000 widows to register them into groups.
She ordered the simplification of the application process to ensure accessibility for more women at the grassroots.
Koki promised to work with both governmental and non-governmental organisations to empower widows in her area.
Koki also condemned the discrimination faced by widows in the Coast region, stating that she will follow laws to ensure they receive what is rightfully theirs.
