Education, a shining key,
Unlocks the doors for you, for me.
No matter where our roots are grown,
It lifts us high, it makes us known.
A child of the have not, a child of the have all,
Both find the stories yet untold.
In books, in words, in numbers bright,
We see the world in fuller light.
No boundary set by birth or place
Can dim the mind’s relentless Grace.
It gives us voice, it gives us choice,
A path to speak, to share, rejoice.
The walls that once divided, stand,
Grow weak beneath the scholar’s hand.
For knowledge knows no caste or skin,
It opens worlds that reside deep within.
In every mind, a seed is sown,
To think, to dream big, to stand alone.
And when we learn, we learn to rise,
To lift another toward the skies.
So let the lessons freely flow,
With no boundaries of dust and gold,
For through them, all can rise and grow.
In education’s light we see,
The equal heart of you and me.
(Teacher Evans Asikoyo, the poet)
