Nyandarua County Deputy Governor Cecilia Mbuthia yesterday inspected the progress on the ongoing construction of Engineer hospital in Kinangop constituency.
The modern hospital that is being constructed at a cost of Sh550 million is funded jointly by the National and County Governments.
Upon completion, the facility will be upgraded to Level Five.
The project that is partly being undertaken by the military involves the construction of a three-storey male and female medical and surgical wards, 148 bed capacity wards as well as the completion and Equipping of a modern kitchen.
Technical teams from the Ministry of Health and the Kenya Defence Forces were present during the inspection visit.
The work is progressing on well and completion is expected to be completed next month as scheduled.
Thereafter, the Deputy Governor attended the International Nurses and Midwives Week celebrations held at the facility.
The celebrations were graced by representatives of nurses and midwives from across the county.
The health workers expressed appreciation for Governor Francis Kimemia’s administration that has increased staffing in county health facilities as well as promotions of staff and sponsorship for specialist training.
