“Recently, you saw president visit Uhuru at Gatundu. Several Cabinet Secretaries were named. We are also behind this new unity. We are sure with CS Kagwe at the helm, the two sub-sectors as well as others will be revived for the benefit of our farmers,” he noted.
The thousands of youths who attended the prayer meeting said that Gachagua is on his own politically and they cannot be with him after cancelling a similar prayers meeting last year.
The youths arrived in buses draped in national flag with religious leaders praying for the unity and peace in the country.
At one point, the youths shared milk and bread to signify happy birthday to their leader, Njenga.
At the same time, Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (Kalro) chairman Dr Thuo Mathenge has called on the region to rally behind and support one political party which they will use to contest and bargain for better things with leaders from other regions.
