The process to issue title deeds to residents of 28 Colonial Villages in Nyandarua has been finalised.
Beneficiaries have started verifying their details ahead of the formal issuance of the precious documents in a process spearheaded by Nyandarua County Government, the Ministry of Lands and the National Land Commission.
This program is part of His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia’s administration commitment to address the challenge of land ownership in the county, as envisaged in his Manifesto and in the County Integrated Development Plan II.
On Tuesday, the Department of Lands, Housing and Physical Planning conducted a daylong verification exercise ahead of the issuance of the land lease certificates. A total of 3,325 title deeds have been processed.
Kimemia witnessed the verification process conducted at Ardhi house in Ol’Kalou, where the exercise will be going on for two weeks.
The Governor told the beneficiaries that the government had waived all levies and that the issue of land rates would not apply for their parcels of land.
Governor Kimemia was accompanied by County Executive Committee Members Hon. Stephen Njoroge and Hon. Ann Mary Gathigia as well as Chief Officers Florence Annan, Mary Waithera and Lawrence Gitau.
