Kisii County Aspiring Woman representative Jackline Karani has refuted claims spread on social media that she has decamped Orange Democratic Movement party.
It’s alleged that Ms Karani joined Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K), which, however, is still under the Azimio la Umoja umbrella together with ODM.
Addressing the press at Kisii County, Ms Karani said those who are spreading such propaganda they have bad intention on her political ambition.
“I besiege my supporters, treat such information as rumors, am a live member of ODM, I don’t have a reason as to why I should ditch the party, “she said.
Ms Karani said that, ODM party is going to carry its party primaries in a free, fair and transparent manner.
According to her, she only supports ODM aspirants, starting from the president up to the member of county Assembly.
She said that whoever will carry the ODM flag she will rally behind them.
She insisted that, anything that is being spread on social media should be regarded as fake, till the authority concerned confirms.
Ms Karani said that Youths have a chance to transform the country with the right mind set as the leaders of tomorrow.
“Digitization is a force for good, it can also be a force for evil in the wrong hands as it can be used for nefarious activities such as spreading hate speech and committing cyber-crimes, “she said.
She urged the public to be cautious on the propagandas, citing that this is the time, unconfirmed information will be spreading on social media attacking the innocent ones as the electioneering period is approaching.
However, she urged the eligible electorates to turn out in large number and vote on August 9.
It’s through voting we can get good governance, economy and development and that can be felt only through a vote,”Ms Karani said.
She pleaded to the ODM members to turn out in large number and vote for her on April 7 during the party nominations.
Ms Karani is going to battle for the ODM ticket with, incumbent Kisii woman representative Janet Ong’era, Brigit Ombati, Donya Toto, Everlyne Ogendo,Peris Onsarigo and Getrude Mogoi.
