The ruling party, Jubilee has laid down an elaborate scheme aimed at enticing voters to support its candidates ahead of the forthcoming General Election.
The scheme includes opening party offices in every ward, enlisting the services of eminent personalities from every village and having mobilisation agents all over.
At the weekend, senior government officials, business community and party officials held meetings in their respective counties with the party aspirants of various seat to strategise.
One such meeting was held at Sangare Hills Resort in Kieni constituency for Nyeri County aspirants. Every aspirant was accompanied by three supporters.
Under the patronage of Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the aspirants and their aides were taken through on how they should mobilize voters to support them and the Azimio La Kenya coalition presidential aspirant Raila Odinga.
Each constituency was tasked to identify men, women, youth and eminent personalities who will form a committee that will be overseeing the party affairs at ward and constituency level.
Among those who attended the Nyeri County meeting included Senator Ephraim Maina Kirinyaga who is now eying the gubernatorial seat, Members of Parliament Gichuki Mugambi (Othaya), Wambugu Ngunjiri (Nyeri Town) and Kanini Kega of Kieni.
Senior government officials included Ministry of Lands Principal Secretary Dr Muraguri and Head of Presidential Delivery Unit Andrew Wakahiu.
Businessman Amos Ngonjo who is the county chairman of a caucus was also present.
Kagwe called on those present to ensure the mobilized as many people as possible to support the party and its candidates.
Leaders from each ward were asked to identify areas where party ward offices will be opened to make it as visible as possible.
