The ICT Authority held an induction session for its Board of Directors to help in implementing key projects and supporting Kenya’s digital growth while creating an avenue for management to work together with Board members. The ICTA CEO Zilper Awiti while speaking during a three-day Board induction session at a Machakos hotel, said that they are looking forward in working with the Board members as the Authority intends to give the Board an overview of where they are in implementing ICT projects and their future plans in the digital space.
She added that the government has entrusted the Authority with several Key ICT projects such as deploying 100,000 km of fiber across the country that will require the oversight from the Board members to be able to achieve their mandate.

Makueni Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili has lauded bodaboda riders for their heroic action in saving the life of a pregnant woman and her newborn baby in a remote part of the county. The riders acted swiftly and came to the aid of the expectant mother and transported her to hospital Bangala Estate in Wote town, and ensured both her and the baby received timely medical care at Makueni County Referral Hospital. The DG who was said addressing wananchi during the World Contraception Day held at Mother and Child Hospital gifted the mother with essential baby items including pampers, baby wipes, and a baby bag.

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Murang’a chapter, has called upon members to ensure they build businesses that are sustainable beyond their founders. Speaking during a breakfast meeting that brought together stakeholders to discuss business legacies and sustainability, KNCCI Murang’a chapter chairperson Dr. Naomi Kagone, noted that many business empires in Murang’a collapse after the death of their owners.
She highlighted the need to ensure those inheriting businesses are equipped with knowledge and opportunities to strengthen and grow them.

Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has taken a giant leap forward in patient care with the commissioning of state-of-the-art medical equipment, marking a significant investment in the health of the nation.
The ceremony was led by Ag. Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Richard Lesiyampe, CBS. Among the highlights was the launch of a high-speed 128-Slice GE CT Scan Machine — KNH’s third CT scanner — a major boost for the International Trauma Centre and patients requiring urgent imaging. With lightning-fast scans, crystal-clear images, lower radiation exposure, and unmatched accuracy, the new CT scan will greatly improve the diagnosis of heart and brain conditions.
KNH also received an advanced 3D Mammogram Machine, a breakthrough in early breast cancer detection.

The Directorate of Children Services in Nakuru has embarked on a programme to relocate more than 2816 orphaned and vulnerable children (OVCs) from more than 81 Charitable Children institutions (CCIs): children’s homes and orphanages spread in 9 Sub-Counties. In this program hinged on the implementation of the 10-year National Care Reform Strategy (2022-2032), the targeted Children will be integrated with their families and communities. The deadline set for the full implementation of the program for State Removal of Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC) from Charitable Children’s Institutions (CCIs) and their subsequent integration to families and the community is before the 2032. The County Children’s Coordinator, Pilot Khaemba, underscored the government’s commitment to ensure that all children who transit to their new settings will get all the required social benefits and privileges.

Correctional Services PS Salome Beacco has announced that the government is on track to register all inmates under SHA Scheme by the end of the year, amid a notable rise in enrolment across the country. The PS revealed that Meru County now leads Kenya in HIV prevalence, overtaking Nyanza. She attributed the rise to over 1,000 registered se-xual offenders in local correctional facilities, an alarming figure highlighting urgent public health concerns.
