Once upon a time, in the distant past, at the foot of the Great Mountain, there lived a tiny but very kind little mouse named Kind Mouse.
Kind Mouse was caring and always valued his friends. Every morning when he woke up, he would first greet his neighbors — Butterfly, Frog, Swallow, and even Fox.
One day, a severe drought struck the valley. The trees turned yellow, the rivers began to dry up, and all the animals suffered from thirst. But Kind Mouse had prepared a small supply of water and food for the winter in his little cave.
The Swallow flew over and said,
— Oh Kind Mouse, my baby is hungry, do you have a little wheat?
Without hesitation, Kind Mouse shared his wheat.
Then Fox came and lied:
— I am looking for water for my sick mother. Do you need any help?
Even though Kind Mouse knew that Fox had deceived others before, he still shared some of his water. Because Kind Mouse always believed:
> “When you do a good deed, even if it doesn’t return to you, your heart becomes brighter.”
Days passed. One day, dark clouds covered the sky, and finally the long-awaited rain came! Water returned, and the land became green again.
All the animals rejoiced and decided to hold a big celebration for Kind Mouse!
On the day of the celebration, Swallow gifted him a tiny vest sewn from gold, and Butterfly gave him a crown made of flowers. Even Fox came to apologize and said,
— From now on, I truly value your friendship.
From that day on, all the animals in the valley became kinder to one another. Every year, on the day the rain returned, they celebrated “The Day of Kind Mouse’s Love.”
