In his address to members of press, Mugambi said if elected as the senator his primary roles will representing his people so that they benefit like other counties.
He asked residents to vote in a senator who is capable of performing in the position of the senator and not just a person to fill the slot.
The two now will battle with former governor Samuel Mbae Ragwa, Ngece Kunga among other aspirants seeking to the Tharaka Nithi senators.
The entry of the two into the race may now force Ragwa who has been enjoying monopoly especially with the popularity of UDA party to up his game over Tharaka votes factor.
This is due to consideration that after senator Kindiki shelving his gubernatorial bid, Tharaka community may now not have a stronger candidate for the same which might convince them to think of retaining the senatorial seat that they have been holding before.
However Mugambi and Gataya being perceived to be governor Njukiβs close allies, it remain a thing to watch how the events will turn as days goes by.
