This came a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta endorsement of Raila Odinga on Saturday as the Azimio la Umoja flagbearer a move that did not sit well with his deputy who accused the Head of State for turning his back on the electorate who propelled him to the top job in three elections.
While taking his boss head-on, Ruto said what he got from the president’s speech on Saturday was that the BBI and the handshake were not meant to bring peace but to endorse a puppet or stooge successor. He however told the masses that project “Raila”will fail miserable adding that, the old man has no plan to take this Country to the future but is a puppet to protect the interest of a few people.
The Deputy President further took issue with president for neglecting the eight million who voted for him in Jubilee in 2013 and 2017 where they had rallied their supporters under a clarion call for unity devoid of tribalism, hate and division.
“We are now surprised to see our President telling – the eight million of us who voted for him – that he couldn’t identify any one of us to succeed him…….People of Kiambu, is that the behaviour of a gentleman? Isn’t that disrespect? Isn’t that an insult?” DP Ruto posed.

In what seemed to be a direct charge to his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta after he openly declared his support to former opposition leader Raila Odinga who is running under Azimio Coalition Ruto thanked the masses for outgrowing deception politics, “We have reached a point where we have outgrown politics for the benefit of a few individuals.”
“Today in Githurai and Thika, leaders from Kiambu, Nairobi counties and across Kenya rejected the politics of worshiping a few leaders at the top and committed themselves to Kenya Kwanza and the Hustler Nation’s values of progress, inclusivity and the empowerment of the people,” DP Ruto tweeted on Sunday.
