Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua hosted dozens of youngsters at his home yesterday.
His neighbours’ children rushed to his home upon seeing his chopper landing.
“….what a better way to end a weekend than to spend an exciting evening with wonderful little people!,” the DP observed.
He invited them to his house where he noted they had a great time telling each other stories.

“It was so much fun as they fell over themselves to narrate to me their best folk stories. I had to also narrate the folk stories that I could remember as rendered by my grandmother – more than 50 years ago!,” he said through his Facebook page.
He added, “It was fulfilling listening to the sharp champions sharing moral lessons with each other, besides core community values encapsulated in the tales. We also had a moment singing inspiring songs together with the little ones, amidst the story telling”.
At the end of it all the excited children and the Deputy President shared shared a light meal before they left for their homes.
Before leaving, the youngsters promised to nurture and take care of the environment by planting trees.
The DP then embarked on an informal meeting with his senior neighbours.
