Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi drops his gubernatorial bid, seeking Senatorial position under UDA.

Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has declared his bid for Kisii senatorial seat after he decamped ODM where he was aspiring to seek the gubernatorial seat to succeed incumbent governor James Ongwae in the coming August polls.
Mr Maangi was deputizing governor Ongwae under ODM umbrella for the two terms.
His unexpected move comes after a number of Azimio candidates including Dagoretti North member of parliament Simba Arati, Senetor Sam Ongeri, CAS Chris Obure are battling for Azimio La Umoja Coalition.
Speaking at Bomachoge Chache when during the coronation by grassroot leaders, Maangi said that, he made his move after considering a number of aspects including betrayal which was waiting for him under the Azimio la Umoja movement forcing him to seek shelter under UDA.
“Have finally settled in UDA and I will be seeking the senatorial seat, I resolved to drop my Gubernatorial ambitions,”Said Maangi.
He attributed that , he will be working in hand with the UDA candidates, Ezekiel Machogu Gubernatorial Aspirant with his Deputy Governor Ogamba Migosi and a women representative seat which they are still consulting.
The deputy governor said he is ready to take the role of the Senator for Kisii County Government come August.
Nyaribari Masaba MP Ezekiel Machogu who is seeking Gubernatorial seat under UDA said his team will emerge victorious come August,adding their performance will be excellent in all aspects of development from health education, infrastructure and many other projects.
Their sentiments were echoed by Ogamba Migosi cited that they are ready to a code Mr Maangi and the whole team all the necessary support and work as a team.
Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri decamped ODM to DAP-K while CAS Chris Obure will be seeking the county top seat under Jubilee.
Joash Maangi will be battling for the senatorial seat with City lawyer Okengo Nyambane under the UDA umbrella.
