Dr. Ann Kihara Beatrice has made Kenya proud on her elevation to the prestigious position of President of the International Federation of Gynaecologist and Obstetricians (FIGO.)
She notes,
“I am deeply honored and humbled to be inaugurated as the President of FIGO. This is a momentous opportunity to advance women’s health globally. Together, we will strive for excellence in obstetrics and gynaecology, forging a healthier world for all.”
In a show of solidarity, the Kenya Obstetrical and Gynaecological (KOGs) President Dr Kireki Omanwa took a moment to congratulate Dr Kihara on that well deserved honour
“It is a historical achievement and puts Kenya and Africa in general squarely on the map of leadership in Sexual Reproductive Health.
It also now puts a spotlight on other agreements that African governments have signed in the past for example Abuja Declaration to increase allocation to health to the tune of 15 % of the Gross Domestic Product. (GDP)
It is time to walk the talk!”
