Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome with senior ministry officials and Laikipia County MPs

Members of Parliament from Laikipia County yesterday held a consultative meeting with Water, Irrigation and Sanitation Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome.
The leaders visited the CS in her Maji House office where they expressed the need for the Kenya Kwanza administration to
Improve water infrastructure in the mostly semi-arid vast County.
“Improvement of water infrastructure for the people of Laikipia must be a priority, as water conservation and efficiency are key components of sustainable water management,” was the message the team had for the minister.
During the meeting, the team also discussed on several other areas of interests that directly touches the people of their county.
“As a leadership, we will continue to lobby for resources to ensure that every Laikipian has access to adequate, clean and safe water,” Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri said after the meeting.
Other leaders present were Jane Kagiri (Laikipia Woman Representative), John Kinyua (Senator) and Dr. Wachira Karani (Laikipia West).
The CS was accompanied by top ministry officials led by The Principal Secretary of Irrigation Gitonga Mugambi, Irrigation Secretary Mr. Aboud Moeva, Water Secretary Eng. Sao Alima and Eng. Samuel Oruma, the CEO for Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (CRVWWDA).
