Meru and Nyeri Counties have been ranked among the top performers in an aquaculture programme.
The counties were awarded trophies for delivering exemplary results in Aquaculture Business Development Programme (ABDP).
The performance rating were released during the second annual ABDP stakeholders review workshop held in Kisii County.
During the review workshop, Meru was ranked first, followed by Kakamega with Nyeri being third out of the 15 implementing counties.
From the mountain region, Kirinyaga County was placed in position six while Tharaka Nithi and Embu counties took positions 8 and 13 respectively.
The objective of the workshop held on Wednesday and yesterday was to review programme implementation progress attained by the Aquaculture Business Development Programme (ABDP) so far, review the challenges encountered and to find solutions to the inherent challenges faced during implementation.
The theme for this year was twin fold being ‘Nexus of Power and Information & Nutrition Sensitivity in Aquaculture’.
